Abstract Submission & Guidelines

WorldLeish 8 Congress — Antalya, Türkiye — April 6–10, 2027

Rules for Submission

  • Abstracts must be submitted online via the WorldLeish 8 submission portal only. Abstracts submitted by email will not be considered.
  • Abstracts must be submitted by the announced deadline. Abstracts submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
  • Abstracts will be considered for oral or poster presentation. The Scientific Committee will determine whether the abstract will be accepted for presentation, with consideration given to the author's preference.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract.
  • Presenting authors must be registered participants. Only accepted abstracts of presenting authors who have paid their registration fees by the announced presenters' registration deadlines based on the submission type will be scheduled for presentation and included into the program.
  • There is no limitation on the number of authors and the submissions per participant. Each individual participant may only be the primary author for one or two oral presentations.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English. All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.
  • Abstracts must be original, not submitted previously or simultaneously to another meeting. If some of the data in the abstract is previously published in a journal or other congress proceedings, it is the author's responsibility to confirm with the publisher whether the submission of the abstract for the WL8 Congress will breach any copyright policies of the publisher. Please note that accepted abstracts of participants registered for the WL8 Congress will be included in the official congress proceedings. If the abstract is fully or partly based on already published work, reference(s) need to be provided.
  • If the abstract is selected for oral presentation, the presenting author will be contacted additionally to complete a mandatory detailed Conflict of Interest Disclosure form.
  • During the abstract submission, you have the option to apply for an Award for graduate students. Please carefully read the guidelines here, and prepare the required documentation before submitting your application.
The WorldLeish 8 Congress provides abstract presenters with an opportunity to apply for a Registration Fee Award via the abstract submission system.

  • We would like to inform you that despite the organizers' efforts, some applications may be rejected due to insufficient funds.
  • The Registration Fee Award consists of only Free registration. If the registration fee is paid, it will be refunded during the Congress. The award will not be able to cover accommodation fees for the selected participants.
How to Apply

The Registration Fee Award application is a part of the abstract submission process. You cannot apply for the Award without submitting an abstract.

During the application for the Award you will need to provide:

  • Answer to the question why you would like to attend the WorldLeish 8 Congress.
  • A document that proves your birth date (i.e. passport/ID card, driving licence, etc.). The document must be in English or be translated into English.
Please note: The Registration Fee Award can only be awarded to presenting authors of abstracts accepted to the WorldLeish 8 scientific program. When applying for the Award, it is recommended that the presenting author is also the abstract submitter. The designated presenting author is the one who should submit the required documentation for the Award application.

Guidelines for Oral and Poster Presentations

Oral Presentations
  • Abstracts selected for an oral presentation will be 15 minutes long (10–12 min talk and 3–5 mins for Q&A). Session chairs will strictly enforce the time limit to keep the scientific program on schedule. A warning signal will be given 2 minutes before your time concludes.
  • Standard 16:9 (Widescreen) format is required.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx) is preferred. If your slides include embedded videos, save the file as a PowerPoint Show (.ppsx) or ensure the video files are provided separately.
  • It is highly recommended to bring a PDF version of your presentation as a fallback to guarantee font and layout preservation.
  • If your presentation was created on Keynote or a Mac, please export it to a standard Windows-compatible PowerPoint format or PDF, and test it at the Speakers' Ready Room.
  • Use high-contrast, easy-to-read sans-serif fonts (e.g., Arial, Calibri, Helvetica) and a maximum of 6–8 lines of text per slide.
  • Speakers must submit their presentation files on a USB flash drive to the Speakers' Ready Room at least 2 hours prior to the start of their session (or the afternoon before for early morning sessions).
  • To prevent technical delays, presentations cannot be run directly from personal laptops at the podium.
  • Please include a Disclosure slide at the beginning of your presentation (immediately following your title slide) to state any relevant financial or academic conflicts of interest, or lack thereof.
Poster Presentations
  • Vertical (Portrait) orientation is mandatory.
  • Suggested dimensions: 70 cm (width) × 100 cm (height)
  • Maximum dimensions: 90 cm (width) × 120 cm (height). Posters exceeding these dimensions may not fit the allocated poster boards.
  • Materials for fixing posters to the boards (e.g., double-sided tape or pins) will be provided at the registration/poster desk.
  • To ensure readability from a distance of 1 to 2 meters, use easy-to-read sans-serif fonts (e.g., Arial, Calibri, Helvetica).
  • Ensure mandatory institutional or congress branding is placed neatly at the top corner(s).
